Cody's Latest Project!

The biggest thing we had to do to get ready for our new baby was to get Maycie moved out of the nursery and into the bigger bedroom. It was originally Haden's room when we moved into the house because it was navy blue and had a sports border. We are still trying to figure out what the previous owners were thinking when they chose that color scheme. They painted all 4 walls, the ceiling, the attic entry and the inside of the closet NAVY BLUE! So, here's the pics to show what we were up against...

And after 4 coats of primer plus paint, this is what it looks like now...we did the closet and window walls white, and the other 2 walls a marsh green that matches the green in her new bedroom set. HUGE CHANGE RIGHT???

I put some vinyl flower stickers above the closet...
Maycie is sleeping in her new room in a regular bed with a new comforter set but I don't have the room all the way done, so I will post more pics when it's finished. She loves her new room and has to take anyone who comes to the house up there to show them her "pretty room". My baby girl is growing up just in time for her new sister to take over the "baby" stuff. Hugs and kisses to daddy for making her room into something she is so proud of!!!

An Update on Me and my Belly Bean!

So I haven't posted much about my pregnancy but we're getting close to the end, so I thought I would give an update on what's going on. I am 36 wks and 3 days right now. Last Wednesday night around midnight, I started having contractions that were, at first, 2 minutes apart, but at times were on top of each other. I was watching TV at the time, so I went to bed thinking that if I laid down they would stop. At 3:00 a.m., Cody's phone went off and he got called out to a water leak. I was in so much pain that I think he was really worried about leaving me and that we may be heading to the hospital. I told him I was fine, but around 4:00 a.m., I was rethinking that and got up to pack the hospital bag because I hadn't done it yet. Well, long story short, I did not go to the hospital, I waited it out until morning, got ready for work and went to the dr when I got to the clinic. I had been to the dr on Monday last week and was dilated to a 1 and 60 % thinned. When he checked me Thursday, there was no change, but because of the intensity and frequency of my pains, he sent me home from work and put me on bedrest until today. So, today, I saw him again. The bedrest must've worked because I'm not dilated anymore but we did an ultrasound to check the position of my placenta and the weight of the baby. The placenta has moved out of the way, so we're good there but the one thing that has me concerned is that she already weighs 6 1/2 pounds! But, I did get the light at the end of the tunnel I was hoping for. We are scheduled to be enduced on Tuesday, July 14, if she doesn't come on her own before then. So, that's where we're at! 2 more weeks at the most and we will have our little Sydnie!!

Carson and Brooke's Wedding

On March 6th, my nephew, Carson, got married in the Salt Lake Temple to his little sweetie, Brooke. He got home from his mission in October and proposed in December. They are such a cute couple and Brooke fits into our family perfectly! Congratulations Carson and Brookie...I love you both so much!

This is a tender moment between my darling mom and dad at the temple. They are my constant reminder of how love and marriage should be...
This is Brooke with all the little boys who took gifts and served...

And...my cute as heck kids!

Rascal Flatts Back in February

So one thing that was super exciting for me happened back in February. I went to the Rascal Flatts concert with my sister and her friend, Cindee. I went to the concert last year with a friend, my nieces and sister and wanted to do it again. This was a last minute thing, we only got our tickets 2 weeks before the concert, and knew that our seats would be in the upper bowl. We had brought along extra tissues for the nose bleeds! :) Well, when we got there and showed our tickets at the door, the usher informed us that there was a problem with our seats and we would need to go to will call to fix the problem. We were ranting and raving the whole way down to will call, after all they couldn't possibly give us worse seats than what we already had, right??? So when my sister exchanged the tickets, she said just that to the will call lady. The lady's exact words were, "Um, no I think you'll be happy with these seats." When we finally got inside to find our seats, we ended up going down the stairs towards the floor instead of into the upper bowl. An usher met us at the bottom of the stairs, put wristbands on each of us and proceeded to walk us up towards the stage. Well, to make a long story short, our seats ended up being on the 2nd ROW! I, personally, have never seen a concert up close like that before and now will probably end up paying extra money so I never sit in the "nose bleeds" again. I guess what happened is that they decided to hang some blackout curtains right in front of where our seats were supposed to be so they had to move us. It is a totally different experience from that close. Jessica Simpson opened for them and she was awesome too. I already know that my little Sydnie likes to jam to Rascal Flatts, once the music started she didn't stop moving in my belly until way after we got home! I did take pics with a disposable camera that is still waiting to be developed, so I will add them later on, I just wanted to blog about my fun night out. Thanks, Michelle and Cindee for being willing to take the pregnant girl out for a night on the town!!!
