My Best Friend
The one I laugh with, live for,
dream with, LOVE!
Today is Cody and I's 2 year wedding anniversary! I wanted to post and express my thoughts and feelings about today and I've also added some pics of our wedding. (I apologize if you don't do sappiness, I blame it on the pregnancy hormones :) )
Cody and I met on March 1, 2003, as a result of a blind date set up by his sister, Courtney. She and I work together and I had been separated from my ex for a year and was feeling like I was ready to start dating. To be honest, I was a little skeptical of blind dates. The only reason why I tell this part of our story is because it shows how crazy one might think I was when I say that I knew from the second I saw Cody for the first time that we were meant to be together. We were going to the snowcross at the Delta Center with Courtney and her husband and we all met at their house before leaving. Cody was already there when I got there and was downstairs playing with Courtney's twins. As I rounded the corner to head down her stairs, I saw Cody before he saw me. I had been extremely nervous all day, after all it was my first date in over 10 years, but as soon as I saw Cody, I immediately felt calm, peaceful, the butterflies took over my tummy, and I lost my breath (he still makes me lose my breath sometimes!).
Now fast forward 3 1/2 years and it's our wedding day, and I am the happiest woman alive! Cody makes me want to become a better person...a better wife, a better mom, a better everything. He picked my heart up off the floor, made it whole again and taught me that I could love and be loved again. It takes a special person to go from being a single, never been married, bachelor to being married to someone with a history and gaining an instant family. He handled it so well and I could never ask for a better stepdad for our boys or a better daddy for Maycie, and he works so hard to provide for and take care of us. There is never a dull moment with him around, He makes me laugh on a daily basis, a lot of times at my own self, and we love just "being" with each other...he truly is my best friend. Thankyou, Cody, for believing in US! The past 2 years have been amazing, we have overcome so many obstacles, but that's ok...together we can do anything. I am so excited to see what our future brings! I love you so much! Happy Anniversary!

This pic is priceless...the photographer was taking a family pic and looked at Gage and saw him giving a big "thumbs up".

Dancing with my daddy to "I loved her first". He was asking me if I was happy, and I said "YES! So happy!"

Haden and I dancing...he was a little embarrassed. Gage wouldn't dance at all.
