FRUSTRATION!

Ok so I've been trying for several days to post some pics and I can't. That little tool bar that's usually at the top of a new post that lets you add pics, videos, etc. isn't on mine anymore. Anyone know why? HELP!

Recipe for the week

I haven't posted a recipe for a couple weeks, so here's one that I made for Maycie's birthday. I got tons of compliments on it and lots of requests for the recipe, so here it is...

COOKIE SALAD
Mix together:
4 c. buttermilk
2 lrg. boxes vanilla instant pudding

Add:
4 cans mandarin oranges
2 cans pineapple tidbits
4-5 bananas
Fold in 1 large tub cool whip

Just before serving, break up 2 pkgs fudge striped cookies and add to salad. Do not add the cookies until just before serving because they will start to soften the longer they are in the salad.

I KNOW I HAVEN'T POSTED ANY "GOOD FOR YOU" OR MEAL TYPE RECIPES. COULD THAT BE BECAUSE I HAVE THE BIGGEST SWEET TOOTH EVER??? ANYWAY, I AM BACK IN THE SWING OF COOKING AGAIN SO I WILL POST SOME GOOD ONES.

Mom...The BEST job in the world!

So, I was blog surfing...Here is a poem I found about motherhood and I wanted to share it with you all. It describes EXACTLY how I'm feeling right now. I'm realizing how important the calling of "mom" is and how much I ABSOLUTLEY love it! I am so blessed to have been trusted with my 3 special spirits.
Embracing Motherhood
I’d rather sing a lullaby, late into the night than live a life of luxury, donning jewels so bright. I’d rather wipe a tear, and kiss away the pain than come home to an empty house, feeling lonely again. I’d rather invest in diapers and clothes that wear too fast than prove our prestige and wealth in things that just don’t last. I’d rather be a Mom; no greater job there is. Each child is a blessing, because each child is His.

Just want to brag a little...

So today I got an email from Dan (my boys dad). He had sent me a copy of a conversation he had with his wife over instant messenger. Heidi had a stroke in July and has been very sick off and on since then. This week has been pretty rough. She told him that my Haden had brought her to her knees crying today. Dan said "ut oh". She proceeded to tell him that Haden has been doing laundry for her all day (which exceeded 7 loads), and wanted to do more. Haden told her that he would do whatever she needed him to do so that she could rest. She just wanted to tell Dan that Haden is such an amazing kid. Haden has such a big heart and is always willing to do anything anyone asks of him.
I was sitting at my desk at work reading the email and bawling because I ABSOLUTELY know that Haden is the best kid ever, but I also know that I do not tell him that often enough and don't give him the credit he deserves for all the help he gives me with Gage and Maycie. He has been through a lot in the last 6 years and I think I've expected him to "grow up" and act older than he really is. I am so proud of him for the boy that he is and am so sad that he's growing up so fast. We had a conversation today about wearing a "cup" for football for heaven's sake! I am getting so old!
I just want to tell both my boys, but especially Haden that I love him so much! I am so proud of him for seeing that his stepmom needed some help and being willing to give up his Xbox and PSP time to relieve some of her stress. The BEST boys ever, for sure!!!!

Today is my baby girl's birthday! I am feeling so emotional today! I am so blessed! I honestly don't know what I would do without Maycie. She is such a handful most days, but we went through so much to get her here and I wouldn't change any of it. I just can't believe it's already been a year and she is growing up so fast! She is starting to look and act more like a little girl than my baby! Mommy loves you Boo! Happy 1st Birthday!

Frontrunner & Gateway

I took my kids on a little adventure today...we rode the Frontrunner train to Salt Lake and then went to Gateway mall. They played in the water fountains, we had lunch, and then we did some school shopping. It was so much fun! We left Clearfield at 11:53 and arrived in Salt Lake around12:40. Haden thought it was taking forever to get home, because it does make a few stops, but then you look out the windows of the train at I-15 and we're moving 70 miles per hour and the cars on the freeway are at a standstill! It was definitely worth it and we want to do it again!

Waiting at the station for the train to come
